“SHYAMNAGAR” - nice place for a day out trip
As
my brought up place I have a keen interest on this place. Actually Shyamnagar
is famous for its Kalimandir situated near bank of Ganga; this called
Brahmamayee Kali Temple. Except this temple this place has its many glorious
stories to remind it always. To tour loving people this city can be a great day
out spot to spend. If you like to spare some time here then read this article

About the town:
Shyamnagar
is a city 30 km away from Kolkata under North 24 Parganas in West Bengal
and under Barrackpore Sub-Divition ruled with 2 Police Stations- Jagaddal PS
and Noapara PS, having areas under 2 Municipalities namely Garulia Municipality
and Bhatpara Municipality. This town is
an industrial area as there are many factories, mills, offices like Exide
Industries Limited, Nicco Corporation Limited - Cable Division, Ramsarup
Industries Limited, Annapurna Cotton Mills, Gouri Shankar Jute Mills, Mulajore
CESC Power Plant, Hindustan Lever - Dalda Division (Presently changed the name)
and many more.
This
town has a population over approx 500,000.The factories and mills illustrates
in a huge labor force from the adjacent states of Bihar and Orissa, with
eastern Uttar Pradesh, regularly figuring an crushing majority of the populace
in this area.
History of the Town:
All
through the ruling of Kirshna nagar’s king Raja Krishna Chandra, he offered the
village named MULAJORE with the designate of ROY GUNAKAR to his courtyard poet
Bharat Chandra Roy.
One
of the family members of Rabindranath Tagore had place up Mulajor Kalibari at

Jairam Thakur (Kusari) was concluding generation had four sons - Anandiram,
Nilmoni, Darpanarayan and Gobindaram. Gopimohan Thakur, the son of
Darpanarayan founded the temple. Gopimohan had two sons Prsanna Kumar and
Harakumar and daughter Brahmamoyee.
According

Sumit Mukherjee and all that. Famous Bengali writer Troilakyonath Mukhopadhyaya
had his origin from Shyamnagar.

Kali Puja. Visharjan (Immersion) of Maa Durga on Dusserha is also famous. It
attracts many people to enjoy the Visharjan. Ganga is an eminent point at the
time of Visharjan.

Jhargram –“The Heritage Forest Queen of West Bengal”
I was then student of Vidyasagar University for my M. Phil
education. I with my class mates were went to a day trip to Jhargram. Before
going to there I had no knowledge about this place. But after get in that place
I have a respect in Bengal’s not popularized jungle beauties like Jhargram.
Nominal Introduction of Jhargram:
Jhargram is the
Sub-Divisional town of Jhargram Sub-Division located in the western part of
Paschim Medinipur in West Bengal. Jhargram presents the most striking
exquisiteness of swelling topography concludes in hill ranges of Kankrajhor,
Belpahari, in the North to the tranquil beauties of roundabout Subarnarekha
River in the South. The main rivers of this division are the Kangsabati, the
Tarafeni, the Subarnarekha and the Dulung.

The area was formerly called Junglekhand , that means a
land of dense forests, occupied by ethnic group like mal, lodha, bhumij and

The name of the State Capital came to be known as Jhargram.
Art & Culture of Jhargram:
Jhargram is the blond assets of tribal dances. The Mundas, Santals, Lodhas, Bhumijs, and Sabars co-exist here. Their shared performances, religious means and customs are uttered through dances among jungles. Some of these tribal dances are at the edge of loss. Some tribal dances are chhou, jhumur, panta-dance, ranpa and some renowned songs are tusu, bhadu etc.
Alongside the tribal society, the usual Bengali
celebrations like Durga puja, Saraswati
puja, Diwali and Kali pujas are well concentrate. Other
regular pujas in the respect of Jagaddhatri, Sitala, Holi, Ratha Yatra,

Various fairs and celebrations take place in Jhargram.
The renowned fairs in Jhargram are Jhargram Mela & Yuva Utsav, Rong Maati
Manush, Shrabani Mela, Baishakhi Mela.
How to Reach Jhargram:

Train:
The distance from Howrah to Jhargram station is 157 KM and the journey takes
three hours by train from Howrah. Jhargram is linked not only to bigger cities
in the district, but also to minor towns and villages in the district. Jhargram
Railway Station is on the Kharagpur-Tatanagar section of
Howrah-Nagpur-Mumbai line which is an express train route.

Bus:
Jhargram
is also very well connected by roads/highways with other nearby cities
like Medinipur , Kharagpur , Durgapur , Asansol ,Bankura , Purulia,
Haldia , Contai , Digha , Kolkata/Howrah , Tatanagar , Baripada,
etc.

Taxi/Cab: One
can also book Taxis or Cab to reach Jhargram from Kolkata. It will take
approximately 4 hours.

its evergreen forests. Over and done go, you see continual plant life. High
